First day of Spring

The last few days have been sunny - wow!  Makes one feel like coming out of hibernation!   Hopefully, the no-snow, and lots of sunshine days will continue.

Gloria Wilder, has brought in an exceptional acrylic painting called: "The Lion and the Pussy Cat"  Picasso style- colorful and sweet.  Stop by to see it. (Eye Candy Gallery, 2173 Professor Ave. #1  Cleveland (Tremont)  OH  44113)

I start teaching metalsmithing at the Brecksville Center for the Arts tomorrow.  There is still time to sign up!  440-526-6232   8 weeks - enough classes to make several pieces of jewelry for yourself or your loved ones - even for beginners.

I'm also playing with video - hope to start posting some soon.

Open- Monday & Tuesday too!

When the flag is flying, our doors are unlocked and we are there. I know, it appears that the store is closed because our windows face west . . . but, really, we are there!

We are opening on Monday's and Tuesday's - between 1 & 5 pm in addition to our regular hours (Wed & Thu 1-6 and Fri 1-7 - sometimes later . . . and Saturday 12:30 - 7pm)
If you find our door locked, we may still be in the neighborhood.
If you want to make sure we are there,
please call - 216-496-9370 - we also open by appointment!

The cold weather is getting colder, and conditions are getting icier. We may, because of weather conditions, be closed earlier than hours posted or on days during which

we are scheduled to be open. Sorry if we miss you! Please call 216-496-9370 if you'd like to make sure we are there. Bob is nearly always accommodating.

Reminder: Art Walk in Tremont Friday, Jan 14th 2011 5-9:30 pm

Wishing everyone a very HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I would like to introduce Silvia, and her beautiful jewelry. It is all handmade - from jumprings for the chain maille earrings to bracelets. She takes great care in making sure that every piece is perfect.

Silver Prices are still sky high. Remember, not everything that is silver in color is actually Sterling or Fine Silver. Too many artists and manufacturers are trying to lower their costs by using other silver colored materials, some of which can cause dermatitis or can be toxic. All of the work we carry at Eye Candy Gallery is nickel compliant. Did you know that Nickel, in Jewelry, is banned in England? Today, I learned that much of the jewelry coming from China and elsewhere may also contain lead or cadmium, both these materials are very toxic to adults and especially children.

Fine Silver is .999 Pure Silver. Sterling Silver is a Fine Silver and Copper alloy. There are a few other alloys which contain Fine Silver and other metals which do not cause dermatitides as nickel does - but these alloys will not be called "STERLING SILVER"

My Metal smithing classes will resume at the Brecksville Center for the Arts, on March 21st. For information, please call Rob or Kim at 440-526-6232 for class information and to sign up. If you have other questions, feel free to contact me at: EyeCandyGallery@gmail.com

I'm hoping for another "thaw" . . . Hope to see you soon!
